This page explains how HomeMeasureCalc handles personal data for visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and Switzerland, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent UK/Swiss data protection law. It should be read alongside the privacy policy.

What personal data is processed

The calculators themselves collect nothing — every calculation runs in your browser, and the numbers you enter are never sent to our servers. The personal data actually processed on this site comes from two sources:

  • Advertising cookies — Google AdSense may set cookies and process identifiers such as IP address to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where consent is given.

Legal basis for processing

Where cookies or identifiers are used for personalized advertising or analytics, the legal basis is your consent, collected before those cookies are set. Where information is necessary to operate the site itself (such as basic server logs), the legal basis is legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and functioning.

Consent for advertising cookies

Google requires publishers using AdSense to obtain consent from visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland before serving personalized ads, typically through a consent management platform (CMP) that presents a cookie banner on first visit. Since the calculators don't collect or store personal data themselves, most of these rights apply specifically to advertising and analytics cookies rather than anything tied to your calculator usage.

International data transfers

Data retention

We don't independently store any personal data, so retention is governed by the third-party services in use (currently Google AdSense, and any analytics tool added later). See each provider's own privacy policy for their specific retention periods.
